Clinical Supervision

Reflective clinical supervision

I offer a reflective, relational supervisory space where supervisees can think deeply about their clinical work, themselves as practitioners, and the therapeutic relationship.

How it can feel

Supervision as a safe, containing space

I am particularly mindful of how vulnerable supervision can feel. I work carefully to ensure that supervision is experienced as a safe, non-judgemental, and containing space, where doubts, questions, and moments of not-knowing can be spoken without fear of criticism or shame.

Supervision with me is collaborative rather than prescriptive. I’m interested not only in what is happening in the work, but in how it is lived and felt — by you, by your clients, and within the relational field between you.

In practice

My approach to supervision

My supervisory approach is grounded in relational psychodynamic and humanistic existential-phenomenological thinking, with a strong emphasis on reflective practice and awareness of the body.

Relevant topics might include:

Alongside reflection, I hold a clear focus on ethical practice, professional standards, and the responsibilities involved in working with vulnerability and risk.

Supervision models I can refer to may include the cyclical model (Page and Wosket, 2015), the seven-eyed model (Hawkins and Shohet, 2012) and its queer counterpart (Hawkins and Neves, 2025), the nine-eyed model of anti-oppressive supervision (Kahn, 2023), and the developmental model of supervision Stoltenberg and Delworth (1998).

Warm, thoughtful, and containing

Supervisees often describe my supervision style as warm, thoughtful, and containing; relational and emotionally attuned; and supportive of uncertainty, learning, and growth.

Practicalities

Online and/or in person

Supervision is offered online and/or in person (as applicable). I’m very happy to offer an initial conversation to explore whether working together feels like a good fit for both of us.
